Alice Ivy-Pemberton, violin (New York, NY), studied with Nurit Pacht at the Kaufman Music Center in New York for ten years before continuing her studies at the Juilliard School under the tutelage of Itzhak Perlman and Catherine Cho. Recent highlights include winning Juilliard’s Violin Concerto Competition, participating in Music@Menlo’s International Program, performing with The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, regularly joining The New York Philharmonic as a guest musician, including at Carnegie Hall and on their German tour in May 2022, and premiering seven new works for solo violin and electronics as a Visiting Artist at Brown University. This fall she will make her debut on Merkin Concert Hall’s Tuesday Matinée series. Alice’s audiovisual work “Drowning Monuments” brings together five newly-commissioned pieces for solo violin by Juilliard composers, each reflecting a part of New York City that will be severely threatened by climate change before the end of the century. In recognition of her work, she was the recipient of The 2019 McGraw Family Robert Sherman Award for Music Education and Community Outreach, which is awarded annually to a Juilliard graduate. Alice received her B.M. and M.M. from the Juilliard School as a recipient of both a Kovner Fellowship and a Benzaquen Career Advancement Grant. Past Yellow Barn musician (2020, 2021)
