Cristina Basili, cello (Vienna, Austria), has studied with Vladimir Malinovsky, David Grigorian, and Antonio Meneses. She obtained her BM and MM at the Bern University of the Arts in Switzerland. She is currently continuing her graduate studies at the University of Southern California under Ralph Kirshbaum. She has worked with Natalia Gutman, Frans Helmerson, David Geringas, Alban Gerhardt, Benjamin Zander, Paavo Järvi, the Belcea Quartet, and the Hagen Quartet. She is a prize-winner of the Prima La Musica in Austria, International Cello Competition in Liezen, Austria, Lions Austria Music Competition, and the Brahms International Cello Competition. She was a scholarship student of the Onassis Foundation, Karajan Stiftung Vienna, Accademia Chigiana di Siena, and Rahn Foundation Zurich. Cristina has performed at the Konzerthaus Vienna, Tonhalle Zürich, Gasteig Munich, Megaron Athens, Thessaloniki Concert Hall, Odessa Philharmonic Hall, Pärnu Music Festival, Riva Music Festival, and the International Enescu Festival.
