Erica Tursi, violin (Medford, NJ), is a founding member of the Omer Quartet.  She has performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Smithsonian Institute, Jordan Hall, and Alice Tully Hall. Festival appearances include Spoleto Festival, Music Academy of the West, The Quartet Program, Bowdoin International Music Festival, Stowe Winter Residency for the Perlman Music Program, and Colorado College Music Festival. Previously, Erica received a bachelor of music degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music where she studied with William Preucil.  She went on to receive a master of music at the Juilliard School, with teacher Catherine Cho. She most recently graduated from the New England Conservatory after spending two years with the Omer Quartet in the professional string quartet training program. She studied privately with Donald Weilerstein and Soovin Kim. During her time at Juilliard, Erica served as a Gluck community service fellow, where she traveled to hospitals, pediatric units and retirement communities to fill the hallways with different genres of music. In addition, her quartet represented Music For Food, a musician-led initiative for local hunger relief directed by Kim Kashkashian. As fellows, the quartet acted as ambassadors to local schools, bringing awareness and support to the student led fundraisers.
