Lana Suran, piano (Stockholm, Sweden), is the 2nd Prize Winner of the Verão Clássico Award (2020), Winner of the "Rose d'Anvers Prize" (2020) and Mannes Steinway Award (2019). Lana is also the recipient of the “Public Project Grant” (2020) given by the American Scandinavian Foundation in New York for her project “As Heard and Danced around the Baltic Sea” which aims to bring global visibility to Nordic music. Her recent collaboration “Á la Valse” with Philippe Graffin will be released as a Digital Concert and CD in 2021.
Lana made her debut at Gothenburg Concert Hall at the age of 8 and has since performed in all concert halls in Sweden and appeared as a recitalist and chamber musician in major halls across Europe, South America and the U.S. She has participated in renowned festivals such as the Festival Internacional de Música de Esmeraldas, IMS Prussia Cove, ICMF Stavanger, Musica Mundi Chamber Music Festival, From Easter to Ascension Festival in Tbilisi and Internationaal Kamermuziekfestival Schiermonnikoog. Lana has had the opportunity to work closely with Richard Goode, Leif Ove Andsnes, Vladimir Feltsman, Kirill Gerstein, Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden, Frank Braley, Philippe Graffin, Gary Hoffman, Miguel Da Silva, Sergio Tiempo, Paul Biss, Hans Leygraf and Lang-Lang and holds degrees from New England Conservatory of Music and Mannes School of Music where she studied with Alexander Korsantia and Ursula Oppens.
Born to Russian/Kurdish parents, Lana began her musical studies at the age of six at Musikskolan Lilla Akademien in Stockholm with Victoria and Elena Power. She is represented by Aljosja Classical Artists in the Netherlands and is currently Artist in Residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Belgium studying with Louis Lortie and Avedis Kouyoumdjian while pursuing her Solist Diplom at the Royal Danish Academy of Music with Jens Elvekjær.
