Pictures on Silence (Jacqueline Pollauf, harp, and Noah Getz, saxophone; Baltimore, MD) has commissioned over twenty works and has received of grants and awards including a Chamber Music America Commissioning Grant, an American Composer’s Forum Encore Grant, and a Sparkplug Foundation Grant. The duo has performed at the World Harp Congress, the Livewire New Music Festival, the Stella Adler School, the Mansion at Strathmore, and the Bridges Festival. They are dedicated to education and work with students of all ages, including recent master classes at the Peabody Conservatory and the Catholic University of America. During the 2012-13 season they will premiere Orpheus and the Secret Road, by Andrew Earle Simpson, a forty-five minute theatrical multimedia piece that retells the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice through live performance, text, poetry, chant, movement, video and electronic sound, at the Atlas Theater in Washington DC. They will also premiere works by composers Steve Antosca and Fernando Benandon, in a program involving electronic and video elements, assisted by pianist Jenny Lin and percussionist Ross Karre, at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. In 2012, Pictures on Silence released its debut album, Voyage.
