Yukiko Uno, violin (Gifu, Japan), studied with Natsumi Tamai at the Tokyo University of the Arts, and she earned her B.A. with highest honors at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, where she studied with Pierre Amoyal and Rainer Schmidt. Currently she is persuing her M.A. at the Musik Akademie Basel with Rainer Schmidt as a recipient of the Yamaha Music Foundation Scholarship. Yukiko was a laureate at the Queen Elisabeth Competition, Oleh Krysa International Competition, a first prize winner of the Andrea Postacchini Competition, Chengdu Guangya Violin Competition, and a recipient of the Paul Roczek Award from Mozarteum University Salzburg. As a soloist she has performed with the Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, Belgian National Orchestra, New Japan Philharmonic, Lviv Symphony Orchestra, and Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana. She has participated in the Palermo Classica Festival and Pärnu Music Festival. Her mentors include Leonidas Kavakos, Maxim Vengerov, Midori, Viktor Tretyakov, and Szabadi Vilmos.
